The archive of the Kollwitz Museum Köln holds an extensive collection of photographs, including pictures from the artist's family albums, which come from her estate. It also comprises autographs, historical picture postcards, publications and further archival materials.
The archive collection comprises portrait photographs of the artist and her family from all stages of her life, photographs of the places where she lived and worked, as well as historical documentation of her works.
In addition, we hold a collection of autographs. The artist corresponded with collectors as well as with prominent figures in public life. Personal letters to family and friends have also been preserved.
Historical picture postcards and, in some cases, annotated publications provide further insights into the artist’s sphere of influence.
The Kolllwitz archive are reference archives. Research is only possible after prior arrangement.
